Steve McKay
President and CEO
Steve joined Spiradrill in May 2020 as the President and CEO. He is focused on team building and strategic leadership to provide innovative, quality, and reliable equipment that fuel business growth and success for Spiradrill customers and partners.
Steve brings more than 30 years of leadership and financial management expertise to the company, ranging from industries including energy, IT, public accounting, business services, restaurant management, and nonprofit. Throughout his career, Steve has helped organizations achieve growth goals by building essential relationships, developing and recruiting talent, and delivering exceptional customer care programs. He is no stranger to leading family-owned companies. Steve was the CEO of Sharp Propane, a third-generation family company, for 11 years where he led the organization to achieve operational and service excellence and national recognition for its safety and customer care programs.
Steve earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Public Accountant. Steve and his wife, Jan, have three children, two are currently in college — a daughter at New Mexico State University, and a son at The University of Iowa College of Law. He enjoys playing golf with his sons, hunting, fishing, and Texas Friday Night Lights. He is avidly engaged in community service through the Knights of Columbus.
