Manufacturing Plant Manager
Ruben joined Spiradrill in August 2020 as the Manufacturing Plant Manager. He leads the organization through advancements in quality and ISO standards, safety, efficiency, and innovation. He brings extensive expertise in manufacturing engineering to Spiradrill with more than 30 years of leading manufacturing operations and quality in various industries, including automotive and control systems.
In his most recent position before Spiradrill, Ruben was the manufacturing engineering manager for the Toshiba Automotive Division, focused on quality and innovation around hybrid electric vehicles. He has an extensive career in new product development of automotive electronic and electromechanical components for manufacturers ranging from Ford and General Motors to Honda and BMW. He has also led implementations of quality systems in compliance with ISO 9001:2015/IATF 16949:2016 and has led cross-functional teams on the implementation of lean manufacturing systems and continual improvement roadmaps.
Ruben is a lifelong learner holding a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aguascalientes as well as advanced course work in engineering, business law, and management accounting from the University of Texas Pan-American and the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is a member of the American Society for Quality and is an international auditor for ISO 9001:2015/IATF 16949:2016. He speaks three languages – English, Spanish, and Japanese.
